What this app is

Label X-Ray analyzes ingredient lists using an AI model to give you a plain-language sense of how processed a product appears based on the submitted ingredient information. Its "organic" indicator reflects patterns in the ingredient list or label claims, not legal organic certification. It's meant to help you think about food labels more critically — it is not a substitute for reading the actual package, consulting a doctor, dietitian, or allergist, or verifying information directly with the manufacturer.

AI-generated content may be wrong

Analysis results are generated by an AI model based on ingredient text you provide or that is retrieved from a third-party product database. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Product formulations change. Barcode lookups may return the wrong product or outdated ingredient data. Do not rely on this app as the sole basis for any health, dietary, allergy, or purchasing decision.

No medical or professional advice

Nothing in this app constitutes medical, nutritional, or professional advice. If you have a food allergy, medical condition, or any health concern, consult a qualified professional and rely on official product labeling, not this app. Label X-Ray is not designed or intended to guide restrictive eating, and shouldn't be used as a tool for managing disordered eating — if food and eating are a source of distress for you, please talk to a qualified professional.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Label X-Ray. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use the app and agree to these terms. By using the app, you're confirming you meet this requirement.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the app for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the app's source code; scrape, systematically query, or otherwise use automated means to extract data from the app or our servers beyond normal personal use; interfere with or disrupt the app's servers or infrastructure; or circumvent any rate limit, quota, or access restriction we put in place. We may restrict or suspend access for accounts or devices that violate this.

Intellectual property

The app, including its design, branding, and underlying software, is owned by Sarang AI Technologies Inc. and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. This doesn't grant you any ownership rights, and you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the app itself. Ingredient and recall data retrieved from third-party sources (Open Food Facts, government recall databases) remains the property of those respective sources.

Product, brand, and company names that appear in the app's results — including in a barcode lookup, an AI-generated analysis, or a suggested alternative — are the trademarks of their respective owners. Label X-Ray is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any brand, manufacturer, or company mentioned in the app. An analysis result, including anything said about a specific named product, is the AI model's assessment of publicly available ingredient information — an opinion generated from that data, not a verified factual claim about any manufacturer or product. If you believe something in the app infringes your copyright or trademark rights, contact us at [email protected] with details and we'll look into it.

Legal compliance

By using the app, you represent that you're not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated by the U.S. government as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and that you're not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except for liability that the law doesn't allow us to exclude — such as death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or fraud — the developer of Label X-Ray is not liable for any damages, injury, allergic reaction, or loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this app or its analysis results, including where an AI-generated analysis turns out to be wrong, incomplete, or fails to flag something it should have. You use the app entirely at your own risk. Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or CA$100 if you're on the free plan.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Sarang AI Technologies Inc. harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the app.

Subscriptions and purchases

Label X-Ray includes 5 free scans as a one-time trial, no account needed. Recall search is always free and unlimited, and never counts against any scan allowance. Need more scans? Two kinds of purchase are available:

Subscriptions — billed monthly or annually (your choice) at the price shown in the app, and auto-renew until cancelled. Cancel anytime through your device's app store subscription settings — Google Play on Android, the App Store on iOS; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

• Basic — $2.99/month or $24.99/year — 20 scans/month
• Plus — $6.99/month or $59.99/year — 60 scans/month
• Pro — $13.99/month or $129.99/year — unlimited scans/month

Scan packs — one-time purchases that add scans on top of your monthly allowance and don't expire monthly.

• 10 Scan Pack — $2.79 — adds 10 scans
• 20 Scan Pack — $4.89 — adds 20 scans

Prices shown are in USD — the price displayed in the app reflects your actual currency and region. All purchases are billed and processed by the app store you downloaded Label X-Ray from — Google Play on Android, the App Store on iOS. Refunds are handled according to that store's own refund policies, not by us directly — see Google Play's refund policy or Apple's refund policy. Prices may change; you'll be notified in advance of any change to an active subscription's price, as required by these stores.

Third-party data

Product information may be retrieved from Open Food Facts or Open Beauty Facts, community-maintained public databases. We do not control or verify the accuracy of third-party data.

For iOS / App Store users — additional terms

If you downloaded Label X-Ray from Apple's App Store, the following also applies and takes priority over anything inconsistent elsewhere in these terms:

• This agreement is between you and Sarang AI Technologies Inc. only, not Apple — Apple has no responsibility for the app or its content.
• Your license is a limited, non-transferable license to use the app on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's usage rules, including through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where applicable.
• We, not Apple, are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app — Apple has no obligation to do so.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for any warranty that applies. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any); beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claim, loss, or damage is our responsibility, as described under "Limitation of liability" above.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims from you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer protection claims.
• If a third party claims the app infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging that claim.
• You must comply with any applicable third-party agreement when using the app (for example, your wireless carrier's terms of service).
• Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and Apple has the right to enforce them against you.

Suspension and termination

Since the app doesn't use accounts, there's no account to terminate — but we may restrict, rate-limit, or block a device identifier that we determine is abusing the app (for example, attempting to bypass scan limits or making excessive automated requests), without prior notice.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may assign or transfer these terms, in whole or in part, without restriction — for example, as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

No waiver

If we don't enforce a right or provision of these terms on a given occasion, that doesn't mean we've given it up — we can still enforce it later.

Force majeure

We're not responsible for any delay or failure to perform caused by something reasonably outside our control — including natural disasters, internet or power outages, or an outage or policy change at a third-party service we rely on, like Anthropic, Google Play, or the App Store.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the app, and replace any earlier agreement or understanding on the same subject.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Who operates this app, and governing law

Label X-Ray is operated by Sarang AI Technologies Inc., a corporation registered in Alberta, Canada. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If a dispute arises, we ask that you first contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally before any formal proceeding. If you're a consumer in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction whose consumer protection law can't be waived by contract, choosing Alberta law here doesn't take away any protection your home country's mandatory consumer law already gives you — that protection still applies alongside these terms.

Dispute resolution: arbitration and class action waiver

If a dispute can't be resolved informally as described above, you and Sarang AI Technologies Inc. agree to resolve it through binding, individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either side may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. You and Sarang AI Technologies Inc. each waive the right to a jury trial and to bring or participate in a class action, class arbitration, or any other representative proceeding — claims must be brought individually, not combined with anyone else's.

If you're a consumer in Canada, the European Economic Area, or the UK: your local consumer protection law generally doesn't allow us to require arbitration for a dispute that hasn't happened yet, or to make you give up your right to go to court — so this requirement doesn't apply to you. You're always free to bring a claim in the courts of your own country or province instead. After a dispute actually arises, you're welcome to agree with us at that time to use arbitration if you'd both prefer it, but you're never required to.

For everyone else, this section may still not be enforceable in every jurisdiction. Where any part of it isn't enforceable against you, that part simply doesn't apply, and the rest of these terms (see "Severability" above) still does.
